{"id":21,"date":"2017-09-23T18:43:36","date_gmt":"2017-09-23T17:43:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.drinkdriving.org\/info\/?p=21"},"modified":"2021-01-28T14:35:10","modified_gmt":"2021-01-28T14:35:10","slug":"legal-drink-drive-limit-uk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.drinkdriving.org\/info\/legal-drink-drive-limit-uk\/","title":{"rendered":"What is the legal drink drive limit in the UK?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>The legal limit in England and Wales is:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>35 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath; or<\/li>\n<li>80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood; or<\/li>\n<li>107 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of urine<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>The legal limit in Scotland is:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>22 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath; or<\/li>\n<li>50 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood; or<\/li>\n<li>67 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of urine<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Scottish drink drive limit was lowered on 5th December 2014.<!--more-->\u00a0Previously Scotland had the same legal limit as England and Wales.
